I should have post this weeks ago. Sakura, Ruby Tuesday and many other restaurant are opened now in the Gulf Road. They are located next to She'ab Park.

Review: Transformers 2

It was a good movie to watch especially when hot Megan Fox stars in it. The movie is literally filled with action scenes. The action scenes were too much, if I'm not mistaken more than 3/4 of the movie is filled with transformers fighting against other transformers or humans. The movie was long too, it lasted for approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.

I give it a 7/10

Movie plot:

" The battle for Earth has ended but the battle for the universe has just begun. After returning to Cybertron, Starscream assumes command of the Decepticons, and has decided to return to Earth with force. The Autobots believing that peace was possible finds out that Megatron's dead body has been stolen from the US Military by Skorpinox and revives him using his own spark. ATM's in Kuwait gas stations

Some gas stations in Kuwait lack K-net service so instead they have ATM machines. As you see above ATM machines are badly located in some of these gas stations, they are placed before the exit of the gas station. One day I stopped for gas but I wasn't carrying any cash so I had to exit the station to go for that ATM drive thru (on the left of the Picture) then I realized there is no way back to enter the station which I found really annoying, So I put my gear on reverse and started to go wrong way back in. I know this might sound odd and you might think why didn't I walk to it, but first because I was too lazy and second it's because it's called a drive thru not a walk thru!!

Three New Swine Flu Cases in Kuwait

Three Kuwaitis being infected with the swine flu after returned home from abroad, the total number of cases now are 15 in Kuwait so far. Dr. Yousef Al-Nisf said "There is no cause for concern, and the ministry has been keeping up with all developments since the very beginning and thus put an emergency plan in place to combat the pandemic". However, six of the previously diagnosed cases have been discharged after making a full recovery, he noted.

WHO reported, some 55,000 people are infected with the A/H1N1 virus in 76 countries, with a total of 230 deaths reported to date.

LO FAT opens at GUST

Great news for diet fans, Lo Fat is open at GUST and is located in the north side near Subway.

I think it has been open since the start of this week but I'm always at the west side so I didn't know about it until today.

I ordered from them a beef sandwich and fried fries. The beef sandwich was small and very average of taste and the fried fries was average too. I guess I'm not the type of person who eats healthy food.

What's next at GUST... Pizza ?

While I was ordering my favorite drink "Chocolate Cooler" at GUST's Caribou, they gave me a survey about opening a sport store in our university. It sounds really cool and I can't wait for this !

I'm hoping that they choose "Athletic Foot" as our sport store.

Sneak Peak Inside 360 mall

Today, me and my cousin went to 360 mall to check it out before the official opening. The place is really near Mishref (Home) it's only 4 minutes away. The picture above is a look at the parkings with a nice view of the fountains. Below you will have exclusive look at some random pictures I took inside 360 mall

There were A LOT of women stores and I barely even saw 1 store for men :( I hope to see some men stores in the near future. To sum things up, I loved the design they did. It was new and unique. The mall is a bit small not that big. They have 4 floors. Concerning the restaurants section, they have Friday's, Boost, D*Lush, Krispey Kreme, Falafel Nadia, Neo Classic Interiors and KFC.

360 Mall, Opening This Thursday

Update : It appears that there were three different stigs ! .. Former F1 driver Perry McCarthy was Top gear's original stig during the first two series. In January, media reports claimed the driver was Ben Collins, who featured as a stuntman in the James Bond film Quantum Of Solace, but now the stig was revealed as Michael Schumacher.

Arcade in Kuwait Airport

I don't know if anyone knows about this place but I recently discovered that there’s an arcade in Kuwait International Airport. If you see an escalator between Wataniya Telecom and Euro Telecom Store in the arrival area go down and take a peak. I don’t know why we need an arcade in the airport but if they think it's necessary then they should consider a makeover because It's the worst arcade I had ever seen!

Back from Sharm El-Sheikh

I'm just back from a 6 days holiday trip to Sharm El-Sheikh which was a total blast. The only thing I have to say about Sharm is that they have the best beach I have ever seen. What's better than swimming in the sea with friendly colored fish swimming around you? I also loved the multiple activities they offered. I guess nothing lasts forever, I just returned to Kuwait and in 5 hours I'm going to start my boring summer course.

iPhone 3GS Launch!

Today 7am in all US time zones iPhone 3GS will be Released and as you can see in the photo above people are waiting in line for Apple store to open so they can get their hands on the new iPhone. Personally I'm a BlackBerry owner so I'm not a big iPhone fan like my friend Mohammed here, But I have to admit I like the new 3GS features they're pretty impressive.

Anyway I just wanted to let everyone know it's just a matter of time that some stores will start importing 3GS to sell here in Kuwait.

Swine flu cases hit 6 in Kuwait

Al-Ray TV just broadcasted about two more swine flu cases here in Kuwait. The two new cases were a girl child, related to one of the patients who came to the country on Saturday, and the other a Kuwaiti woman in her 60s who returned from the United States on Monday. Ministrty of health will take extra caution about this disease.

The reason why SMASH HITS was made is because of GUITAR HERO SMASH HITS MUSIC AWARDS that will take place on July 1st 2009. The nominees for these awards are only 48 popular artists who best featured in the video game since it started in 2005.

SMASH HITS video game will feature only the 48 nominees for the music awards and is released on PS2, PS3, X360, Wii and NintendoDS platforms.

Swine Flu Reaches Kuwait !

Kuwait yesterday confirmed the country's first cases of swine flu in four Kuwaitis who returned from the United States on Saturday. "I'd like to announce the first case of H1N1 virus in Kuwait," Ministry of Health (MoH) spokesman Dr Yousef Al-Nisf said earlier yesterday at the ministry's headquarters in Shuwaikh. He said the patient was a 16-year-old student.
The patient is now receiving treatment at the Kuwait's Infectious Diseases Hospital including his immediate family who have been in close contact with the young man. We will be very transparent on the swine flu cases and we want to reassure the public that we only have one case of swine flu, not more than that. But we are taking all precautionary measures in order to contain the influenza," said Al-Nisf who is also the MoH's Assistant Undersecretary for Medical Support Services. But later yesterday, Al-Nisf confirmed three more cases.

Update : All of them were students that came from the US, one of them is 17 years old, the rest are 16 years old.

Emergency Number to be Changed

The General Director of the Communications Department at the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant Ali Zaid Al-Dahmali, recently announced that the emergency number will be changed from its current "777" to "112" by January 1, 2010. The previous number will be voided by the end of this year.

I like the "777" more than the new one.

Espresso .. First Impression !

Yes, it was my first espresso in my whole LIFE ! .. I was trying to stay awake because this is my last day to study and I didn't cover all the subject. However, my friend adviced me to try out the espresso, and he told me that it will help me to stay awake until the next Monday ! ( He was joking of course ! ). The taste was awful, because it was pure black coffee nothing was added, even when I did add three bags of sugar the taste was still crab ! .. So I didn't drink it, I bought Red Bull instead and it didn't help actually, I'm kinda sleepy right now.

This is my first and last espresso .. Have you ever tried it ?

Review: The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3

Firstly, I would like to give a round of applause to one of the best actors alive, Denzel Washington and John Travolta. The acting was EXCELLENT. They made the characters very believable.

I also liked the story, but what I didn't like about the movie was the multiple mistakes.

You will know what I mean when you see the movie.

Movie plot:

"New York City subway dispatcher Walter Garber's ordinary day is thrown into chaos by an audacious crime: the hijacking of a subway train. Ryder, a criminal mastermind, leads a highly-armed gang of four, threatening to execute the train's passengers unless a large ransom is paid within one hour. As the tension mounts beneath his feet, Garber employs his vast knowledge of the subway system in a battle to outwit Ryder and save the hostages. But there's one riddle Garber can't solve: even if the thieves get the money, how can they possibly escape? "

I rate the movie 7.7/10

Microsoft Lucid Touch

Touchscreen problem would be your fingers getting in the way of small screen. That is why Microsoft bring the concept of backside touchscreen which allow user to control the device from behind but still being able to see their fingers. Microsoft has shown off Microsoft LucidTouch prototype at the TechFest fair, an internal event highlighting key tech from the company’s 800 research and development staff.

According to the company, the key to making this usable is what it calls pseudo-transparency: by overlaying an image of the user's hands onto the screen, the illusion of the mobile device itself being semitransparent is created. This pseudo-transparency allows users to accurately acquire targets while not occluding the screen with their fingers and hand.

According to Microsoft in initial studies, results suggest that many users found touching on the back to be preferable to touching on the front, due to reduced occlusion, higher precision, and the ability to make multi-finger input.

So with Microsoft Lucid Touch you'll have less finger prints in your screen, or can I say reduce them.

Australian Woman Jailed in Kuwait for Assaulting the Ruling Emir

Nasrah al Shamery, 44, has been in a Kuwaiti jail for five and a half months and she was sentenced in April to two years jail.The assault charge arose from an alleged insult against the Emir Kuwaiti Airport officers claimed she uttered during an altercation last December. It is expected that Mrs al Shamery will deported to Australia as soon as arrangements are finalised.

Her family in Sydney say she has been very ill during her five and a half month imprisonment, including breathing and back problems.

More than 30 years since Roger Moore's 007 put the idea into every guy's head, someone has finally replicated the underwater auto experience. Swiss design company Rinspeed has created the sQuba ($1.4 million), the world's first submersible car. Based on the Lotus Elise (it was a Lotus Esprit in The Spy Who Loved Me), the all-electric convertible can drive you to the lake in style and then dive underwater to a depth of over 30 feet. The car's engine was removed and replaced by three motors — one for land driving, good for up to 75 mph, and two others for the underwater propellers. Power is supplied by rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries. You can check the sQuba out in person at the Geneva Motor Show next month, but, unfortunately, there are no current plans to build others besides this prototype.

Lost Tiger Found in Kuwait !

For the first time in Kuwait, tiger escaped from his owner in Hatteen roads yesterday. The streets were in chaos, since the tiger was wondering around South Surra's area. Hawaly Police Station recieved the call about this situation at 9am, nobody was hurt thanks to the policeman who approched to the animal and patted him on the head, since he noticed that he has a chain over his neck. However, the owner will be punished for keeping such a dangerous animal !

Can you imagine if it was released at school rush hours !

We are having tuff days right now, two weeks of final tests, so we will give you some advices to concentrate while studying.

Don't listen to music and study at the same time. You will be focusing on two things and thats wrong.

When your friends need your help don't reject them. This will help you to memorize what you've studied.

Don't study in the dark, it will hurt your eyes and you won't be focused.

Finally, try to write the important things on a piece of paper so you can read it before the test.

Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling 2009

Every year daring competitors throw themselves down a death-defyingly steep hill in Gloucestershire, England, in a bid to win a coveted Double Gloucester cheese, and this year's event was no different; with a number of competitors incurring injuries. Local cheese rolling legend Chris Anderson won 2 of the 5 races on the day, and can be seen in the video sporting his usual bright green top and flying past the camera.

Today was the opening day for Falafel & Company as I did post yesterday, so I decided to give it a try with one of my best friends, "Jaber". When we arrived, the place was a little bit crowded because they were about to almost close ( I passed by the restaurant with my friend "Saad" at 01:30pm and the place was VERY crowded and that made us to change our minds and choose another restaurant because we were starving ). The staff were very friendly and I felt like making those falafel at my own kitchen, but with seven different kinds of falafel !

If you see the restaurant and the way that they serve you, you may think that the prices are high, actually we ordered four sandwiches and the total cost was 1.400 KD which is very cheap !

Must try shawarma at Falafel & Co. they are the best in Kuwait !

Falafel & Company Opening

Tomorrow, Thursday the 4th, is the opening of Falafel & Company, it's located next to Slider Station. They serve traditional falafels, shawarmas and more as well as more wild twists and creations.

I tried the falafels and they were so delicious !

GM Sells Hummer

When a huge corporation goes bust, it leaves billions owing to companies all over the world. A day after it filed for bankruptcy protection, General Motors said Tuesday that it had reached a deal to sell its Hummer brand of large trucks but without naming the buyer !
“Hummer is a strong brand,” Troy Clarke, the president of G.M. North America, said in a statement. “I’m confident that Hummer will thrive globally under its new ownership. And for G.M., this sale continues to accelerate the reinvention of G.M. into a leaner, more focused, and more cost-competitive automaker.”

Hope the new owners are Germans !

New 2010 Corvette Grand Sport

Cheverolet will release their new 2010 Corvette Grand Sport according to GM official site. The announcement was made during the 12th annual C5/C6 Birthday Bash, held at the National Corvette Museum, in Bowling Green, Ky.

I liked the new body which is not different from the 2009 C6, only few details. But as a performance, this one is much better although they have the same horse power which is 430 HP.
